About Luke Heydlauff
Luke Heydlauff was born in Kampala, Uganda, in 2015, and after being lovingly cared for by his birth mother, he was adopted by Jeff and Kate Heydlauff the following year. Luke was known for his joy, gentleness, and constant smile, even as he faced significant health challenges, including a rare lung disease that led to a double lung transplant. He lived with courage and light until his passing in 2018, and to honor his life, the Heydlauffs created The Luke Heydlauff Fund for Children to promote health, education, and happiness for kids in Uganda and beyond.

Luke Heydlauff Medical Clinic at Restore Leadership Academy
Through the fund, the Heydlauff family partnered with Love Does to make Luke’s legacy tangible in Uganda. In 2020, they helped build a medical center at Restore Leadership Academy in Gulu, bringing vital care to students and their families. The following year, during the pandemic, the fund also supported Love Does in providing sanitation stations for over 500 students and teachers, ensuring safe learning. Together, the Heydlauffs and Love Does are carrying forward Luke’s light by serving children with hope and care.
Restore University
Opening in 2028, Restore University is a new campus being built in Northern Uganda by Love Does. Rooted in the incredible success of Restore Leadership Academy—which has grown from fewer than ten students during the LRA conflict to nearly 2,000 today—Restore University will be a world-class institution where whimsy meets wisdom. It will blend academic excellence with the values of love, justice, and purpose.
With a mission to develop servant-hearted leaders, Restore University will equip the next generation of innovators, teachers, and peacemakers to transform their communities and the world.
The New Luke Heydlauff Medical Clinic at Restore University
To honor the legacy of Luke Heydlauff, Love Does is partnering with The Luke Heydlauff Fund for Children to build a new medical center at Restore University—an expansion of the Luke Heydlauff Medical Clinic at Restore Leadership Academy. The new facility will provide essential care for infections, wounds, and malaria, and will include a dental clinic. Over time, additional medical equipment (X-ray machine and MRI) will be added to ensure students and families have access to comprehensive care right on campus.
In Uganda and many parts of the world, children often lack access to basic medical services, putting their lives and futures at risk. This new clinic will stand as a tribute to Luke’s life, extending hope and healing to students, families, and the surrounding community for generations to come.
